Palmer Municipal Fire Department members were dispatched to the IFIX and More cell phone repair store as the initial alert was upgraded to a commercial blaze with 911 callers reporting a smoky explosion around 4:50 p.m., the company said.

The fire was doused by sprinklers but caused damage in two other stores, including Claire’s and Verizon Wireless, LehighValleyLive reports citing Deputy Chief Jim Alercia.

IFIX and More’s lavatory, stock room and sales floor also sustained "moderate" fire and water damages, Alercia said.

Electricity has been ruled out as the cause of the blaze, which was contained to a stock room lavatory.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which has been deemed suspicious pending further investigation.
